BC Professional Truck Driving Championships

Winners of the British Columbia Professional Trucking Driving Championships held July 5, 2008 in Abbotsford competed at the National Professional Truck Driving Championships held in Ottawa, Ontario on September 12 – 14, 2008. The three-day event, hosted by the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA), saw 38 of Canada’s top drivers compete for points in a series of nine skill-testing events. Team British Columbia, which had two drivers win their respective categories and another place in the top three in his category, won the Team Award. Four points separated the six-member British Columbia team from its closest rival in the team competition, meaning the British Columbia team accumulated only 25 points more in total as a team than the second place team, Team Ontario. As evidenced by the slight margin of victory, every member of the British Columbia team contributed to the overall success of the group through their placing in each category and in each event.
